CRIME

On 03/31/2009 at 1250 hours officers were dispatched to 6407 Manchester Ave in regard to a suspicious vehicle and a party armed. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim in the stairwell on the west side of the building. The victim, Ahmed Johnson, had been shot. He died at the scene.

On January 6, 2008, Kansas City Missouri Police Officers were sent to 2716 Grove regarding a disturbance.

Upon arrival officers found that Eric L. Davis, 35, and Rosalind D. Dawson, 45, had been shot. Rosalind was declared dead at the scene. Eric was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Eric was eventually transferred to an extended care facility. Eric never recovered from his injuries, and he eventually died on April 6, 2009, from complications related to the shooting. The Jackson County Medical Examiner ruled Eric’s death a homicide on January 14, 2010.

The victim, age 21, and his friend were on foot at 39th and Broadway near the Westport entertainment district when they were caught in the crossfire of rival gang members shooting at each other from various vehicles at about 3:20 a.m. May 20, 2007. The victim sustained a gunshot wound during the shooting and subsequently died from his injury. The victim was an innocent bystander who lost his life to gang violence.

There is a $30,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.

On May 31, 2003, at 7:13 a.m., police officers and the fire department were dispatched to a car fire at 1101 Guinotte. When fire fighters arrived on the scene, they reported that they had found the vehicle, a 1992 Acura Legend, on fire and that there was a body inside. The charred body was that of 27-year-old Bao N. Luu. His death was later ruled a homicide.

On April 26, 2002, at 1:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance assault call at 5400 Tracy.  When officers arrived they found one victim who was alive, sitting on the living room floor covered in blood. The second victim, who was identified as 41-year-old John Hees, was located in the second-floor southwest bedroom lying face down on the floor in a large pool of blood. Mr. Hees was pronounced dead at the scene. It was later determined the crime was an apparent residential robbery.

On December 30, 2002, at 8 a.m., the body of 23-year-old Adrian Harrison was discovered in a small abandoned building in the parking lot at 11th and Elmwood. Harrison’s death was later ruled a homicide.

Two black male suspects walked into the 7-Eleven at 319 E. 63rd St. sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, and opened fire on the clerk Caroline Neal. Neal, 58, died at the scene. Neal was a wife, mother and grandmother who took the part-time job that July to earn a little extra money. She lived in the Brookside area near the store. Police believe that a store manager at that 7-Eleven had previously kicked the suspects out of the store for shoplifting. The men returned and were in the store less than 20 seconds. The gunmen did not rob the store.

On November 13, 1999, at 6:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported shooting at 935 W. 24th Street.  When they arrived, they located the victim, Salvador Chavez, lying on the sidewalk on the west side of Belleview, just south of 24th Street.  Mr. Chavez had suffered an apparent gunshot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the morning of May 3, 1997, Todd Siemens, an armed security guard for a local security company, was working at the Taqueria Mexico Restaurant at 910 SW. Blvd. Shortly before 4 a.m., Siemens became involved in a disturbance with a Hispanic male in front of the restaurant, after the restaurant refused to sell him anymore liquor because they were closed. A physical confrontation ensued in which the Hispanic male disarmed Siemens of his handgun and shot him several times, and then fled the scene with the weapon.  Police found Siemens lying in the street suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died.Witnesses reported that a short time after the murder, the suspect got on a Santa Fe Railroad train near the area where the murder occurred, and headed eastbound out of Kansas City. 

The suspect told witnesses that he needed to get out of town and was possibly heading to Texas, or possibly to his home state of Chihuahua, Mexico. The suspect may also have ties to Juarez, Mexico. The suspect is reported to be a Hispanic male, 5’6″ to 5’8″, 180 pound, stocky, 22 to 30 years of age (at the time of the crime), short black hair, and medium to dark complexion. He has a tattoo on the right inner forearm area, possibly a grim reaper with a scythe, and a tattoo on the left upper arm near the shoulder of the initials”R.M.P” or “M.R.P.”  The suspect also is described as having numerous, large, visible scars on his right arm, probably cuts.  The suspect reportedly only spoke Spanish and was only known by the names of “Morgan,” “Nelson,” and “Mortal Combat.” The suspect had apparently only been in the Kansas City, Missouri, area for approximately one month before the murder occurred and worked for a short time at a small, nearby, Mexican business near the scene of the murder.

Alice Cramer, 47, and her friend Donald Watson, 57, were discovered murdered in Alice’s home at 13401 Charlotte St. on October 24, 1996.
